Best ever in Bethnal Green

PLAYERS from Bethnal Green United capped their best ever season by adding more silverware to their trophy cabinet.Bethnal Green United senior team who have still to complete their league fixtures, won the Alex Smith Premier Division Cup and the Bangla TV Cup, while the under-15 A and B teams won the Echo Junior League Division C championship and cup respectively.
The club’s head coach, Junior Brown, was presented with a special trophy by former mayor Cllr Ann Jones in recognition of the club’s outstanding achievements.
Bethnal Green United are one of a number of local clubs that belong to Tower Hamlets Football Partnership. Lead by the council, the partnership aims to improve football participation and accessibility.
Last season saw the debut of Tower Hamlets first ever senior women’s football club, Tower Hamlets Women's FC.
The team play at the newly-refurbished Meath Gardens in Bethnal Green, which includes new changing facilities and floodlights. Established in 2000, the club has a senior, reserve and youth team.
