SHOPPING in Brick Lane certainly works up an appetite and with so many eateries to choose from it can be difficult to navigate the maze of restaurants.

Prithi Restaurant is one of the many curry houses lining Brick Lane and grabs your attention with its smart exterior.

My friend and I decided to take the weight of our feet and have lunch.

We opted to sit outside as the weather was warm and we ordered fresh pineapple juice to quench our thirst. The drinks came quickly and I ordered some poppadoms, which we tucked into whilst perusing the menu.

From where we were sitting we could see striking large murals on the wall and a stream of people coming to use a cash machine, which is located inside, but I imagine could be quite annoying if you were sat close by.

The waiters were very helpful and explained a couple of dishes on the menu and recommended the Prithi specials.

I ordered a Prithi meat and vegetable special with naan whilst my friend went for a chicken jalfrezi, also with naan.

The food came very quickly and smelt delicious. My dish consisted of lamb pieces marinated in spices with cabbage, peppers, onions and potatoes. It was very tasty and filling. It went well with the naan as it was not a dry dish.

My friend found the chicken jalfrezi quite spicy to begin with but persevered and said it was very good. I offered some of my dish, which she really enjoyed and mixed the vegetables with the jalfrezi, which took the heat off it.

The bill came to £20.20 with drinks and complimentary chocolates.
