WOMEN in Whitechapel, Wapping and surrounding wards (Tower Hamlets Local Area Partnership 3 & 4) are invited to the new "Getting Ready for Work" workshops. The session is on Wednesday 21 May, 10 am -1 pm, Darul Ummah Community Centre, 56 Bigland Street Whitechapel.

Reed in Partnership and Tower Hamlets Local Area Partnerships 3 & 4 have teamed-up to create the practical workshop to help local women get familiar with the job application and interview process, as well as prepare women for the work place.

Two more "Getting Ready for Work" workshops will take place during May and June. All session will run between 10 am -1 pm, the dates include:

Wednesday 28 May, Redcoats Community Centre, 256 Stepney Way E1

Wednesday 4 June, Wapping Bangladeshi Association (WBA), Tench Street E1W.

The "Getting Ready for Work" workshop will give women useful advice on employment and training opportunities that fit around their lifestyle, new changes to claiming Income Support, essential information about childcare and how to get financial support to pay for it. There will also be an opportunity to listen to peoples' experiences about how landing a new job has significantly improved their lives.

Jusna Begum, Personal Advisor for Reed in Partnership, said: "This workshop has proved to be a big hit wherever we've run them. What people really like about them is that they can get practical advice and search for real jobs."
