Help an elderly gentleman

Hi, I am trying to help an elderly gentleman called Tom whos family came from Bethnal Green and whos father was born there in 1907.

Sadly he was gassed in WW2 and died later, soon after Tom was born.

He would love to find out any info on any schools around the area in 1918 and if there are any school log books in which he might find his fathers name.
